Sino-Indian Youth Debate

The Sino-Indian Youth Dialogue was an immersive and vocal experience. Co-hosted by Apollo MUN, Not Islands Initiative, and WomenNLeadership, it commemorated the end of the Sino-Indian War which occurred 59 years ago. The event revolved around the central theme, "Can Diplomacy Save the World", along with other topics such as, "Challenges in the Age of the Internet" and "What follows the Cop26".

There were numerous presentations derived from these topics by students from India, China, and all around the globe. From the history of the Sino-Indian War to social anxieties and the challenges it breaks in the digital age, we covered a lot. A LOT.

But the event had a lot more to offer. Three amazing guests were present that day to discuss their own views and beliefs on the dialogue's central event -

John Andrew Ferguson - An aspiring future diplomat and negotiator, and president of the Harvard Undergraduate Foreign Policy Initiative.

Victor Gao - Former translator of Deng Xiaoping, and current director of the China National Association of International Studies, China World Centre for Globalization and the Chairman of Yale Law School Association of China.

Dipanjan Roy Chaudary - A diplomatic editor at The Economic Times, New Delhi who covers Foreign Affairs and several International Summits.

But we can't forget about the open forum. Personally, it was a highlight of the event, with a very welcoming and open atmosphere, the participants were allowed to freely voice their opinions on the issues of concern. It was a super interactive and fun session and I really appreciate the environments the co-hosts were able to create

All in all this event was amazing and I look forward to similar ones in the future!
