The Ultimate Fighting Championship is the biggest mixed martial arts promotion which houses some of the strongest, most skilled, and the most talented fighters the world has ever seen, with 689 fighters fighting in the promotion as of December 2021, we see UFC events every week. The numbered UFC events take place once a month where we see the big dogs of each division fight it out in the octagon, from brutal knockouts to tight submissions we see fighters drop one another on their way to fight for a title. The promotion has 9 weight classes for men and 4 weight classes for women
The UFC reported revenue of $930 million in 2021 and was just shy of the $1billion mark, even though the coronavirus pandemic the promotion held events since march 2020 their events have only been streamed live on PPV(pay per view) without a live audience. However on 25th April 2021 with UFC 261 the promotion opened its doors to the public for the first time in over a year, selling out the event with a whopping 15,269 fans at the arena and even more watching live from home, we saw 13 spectacular fights on the card, out of which 3 were title fights.
If you’ve heard of the UFC before you must’ve heard of The Notorious Conor Mcgregor, the Irishman is well known for the brutal annihilation of his opponents inside and outside the octagon, Mcgregor is also the first UFC fighter to be champion in two weight classes simultaneously (featherweight and lightweight), he claimed his lightweight title at UFC 205 after getting a TKO win against Eddie Alvarez.
